New York State Testing

on April 10, 2013

Next week will begin our New York State testing.

It will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

It is very important that everyone remember that they can only do their best. I don’t want anyone to stress out about these tests!! You have been working hard and learning all year long. You are prepared for this. Just try your best and stay focused so that you use your time wisely. Remember that they are timed tests so you need to balance hard work with pacing.

Note to parents: It is imperative that your children get a good night sleep and eat a hearty breakfast each morning! It will make a huge difference in their focus and level of work.

Note to my students: Remember to think hard about what the passages are about…the literal information but also the inferencing (between the lines) things that are happening. Eliminate poor choices and look back into the story to be sure your answer is correct. For your written responses- read over your writing to be sure that you have correct grammar and punctuation. Ask yourself “Did I use SPECIFIC DETAILS FROM THE PASSAGE to support my thinking?”

You’ve got this!!! :O) Mrs. Spata
