Please post an answer to this question. We will discuss it in class on Thursday. Be sure to show your work!!! I want to see your math and how you solved it.
Winston, Marcus, and Julia collect sports cards. Winston has 400 sports cards. Marcus has three times the amount that Winston has. Julia has the same number as Winston and Marcus combined. How many cards do Marcus and Julia each have?
Extra Mile: 1/2 of Winston’s sports cards are baseball cards, 1/4 of his cards are football cards, and the rest of his cards are hockey cards. How many baseball, football and hockey cards does Winston have? :O)
Dear Mrs.Spata
Marcus has 1,200 sports cards.I got my answer by doing 4×3 and I got 12 so 400×3 must equal 1,200. Julia, however has 1,600 sports cards. I got my answer by doing 1,200+400 and I got 1,600.
EXTRA MILE
All of the baseball, hockey and football cards take up all 400 of Winstin’s sports cards so all 400 are his football, hockey and baseball cards.

Hi Mrs.Spata=] Marcus has 1,200 sports cards. I got my answer by multipluing 400×3= 1,200. Julias is 1,600.I got my answer by adding 1,200 and 400=1,600.
the Extra mile:the answer 200 baseball cards ,100 football cards,and100hokey cards. I got 200 by dividing 400/2 and got 200 because 200 is half of 400. Then I divided 400/4 was 100 football cards. Then the rest of the 400 cards would be 100 hokey cards.

Marcus has 1,200 cards, Julia has 1,600 cards and Winston has 400 sports cards.
Marcus has 400*3=1200
Julia has 400+1200=1600
Marcus has 1200 cards
Julia has 1600 cards
extra mile
Winston has 400 cards 200 are baseball
100 are football cards 100 hockey cards
Math Question:
Marcus has 300 sports cards and Julia has 700 sports cards.
400×3=1200 Marcus, 1200+400=1600 Julia.
Marcus has 1200 and Julia has 1600.
Extra Mile: 1/2 of 400 = 200, 1/4 of =100.
So he has 200 baseball, 100 football, 100 hockey.
Winston=400 cards
Marcus=3×4=1,200 cards
Julian=400+1,200=1,600 cards
Extra mile
1/2 of 400=200 cards are baseball
1/4 of 400=100 football cards
1/4 of 400=100 hockey cards
200+100+100=400
Marcus has 1,200 cards.I got my answer by mulipting 400×3=1,200. Julia has 1,600 cards.I got my answer by adding 1,200+400=1,600.
Extra Mile: Winston has 200 baseball cards. I got my answer by knowing half of 400 is 200. Winston has 100 football cards. Winston has 100 baseball cards.
Marcus has 1200 sports cards.
400 X 3 =1200
Julia has 1600 sports cards.
1200 + 400= 1600
Winston has
200 baseball cards
100 football cards
100 hockey cards
400 divided by 2 = 200
400 divided by 4 = 100
400-300= 100
Marcus has 1,200 cards
400×3=1,200
Julia has 1,600 cards
1,200+400=1,600
Extra Mile: 1/2 of 400=200 baseball cards.
1/4 of 400=100 football cards.
200+100=300
400-300=100 hockey cards.

I got my answer by doing 400 times 3 first because it said Winston had 400 sports cards and it said Marcus had three times the amount that Marcus had. It was 1,200. Then it said That Julia had the amount of Marcus’ cards and Winston’s cards combined so I did 400+1,200=1,600. So Winston had 400 cards, Marcus had 1,200 cards, and Julia had 1,600.
400×3=1,200 Marcus has 1,200 sports cards.
1,200+400=1,600 Julia has 1,600 sports cards.
extra mile
1/2 of 400 is 200. 1/4 is 100.
He has 200 baseball cards, 100 football cards, and 100 hockey cards.
I know Winston has 400 sports cards.Marcus has 3 times more than Winston I know 3 times more than 400 is 700 I know that because 400+300=700 so Marcus has 700 cards.Julia has the numbers of cards Wiston and Marcus has so I have to add 400
+700
____
1,100 so Julia has 1,100.Wiston and Julia have 1,800 because 1,100+700=1,800.
That is my answer and how i solved it.
400
x3 4 x 3 = 12 so 400 x 3 = 1200.

1600 julia has 1600 sports cards. I got my answer by doing 4 x 3 = 12. then i added two zeros because 4 x 3 is the same thing as 400 x 3 but it has two extra zeros. then i added 400 to the 1200 and got 1600.
%)
I know Marcus has 3 times as many as winston does. Winston has 400. So, 400×3=1,200 or 400+400+400=1,200. So Marcus has 1,200cards. Julia has the same as Marcus and Winston combined. Winston has 400. So, 1,200+400=1,600. Marcus has 1,200 and Julia has 1,600.
Extra mile 200 baseball cards, 100 football cards, and 100 hockey.
Marcus’ number is 1,200. Igot this answer by writing notes about Marcus. I wrote that he has 3 times the amount Winston has. Winston had 400. So I did 400x 3. that was1,200. Julia’s number is 1,600. I got this by writing notes about Julia this time. Her number was Marcus’ and Winston’s combined.Winston’s was 400 and Marcus’ was 1,200.So I added those 2 together. I got 1,600. That’s how I got my answer.

Dear Mrs.Spata,
I thought you were going to post the homework on Thursday. Also James put his last name when he wrote his answer.
Bye see you tommrow,
Aiman:)!
hi mrs spata,
marcus has 1200 card and juila has 1600. i got this answer by multiplying what winston had by 3. winston had 400 card so when i multiplyed it by 3 i got 1200 then the problem said that juila had the amount that marcus and winston had combined so i added 1200 +400 and got 1600.
