Black History Month

on February 4, 2009

February is Black History month. In class we will be working on research projects that will teach us more about some very important black Americans and how they made an impacted on life as we know it. We will be presenting these to the class so that we can all learn from each other.

Here are a few links that you may want to check out for more Black History Facts.

Hi Mrs. Spata are we going to talk about black history month in class every day in class? Or maybe once a day? I can’t wait until we learn about black history month, I did not know that.
My second question is you know how we are learning about the 50 states, well I want to learn more about New York. I feel like theres more. so do you know what website I can go on and learn more about New York. I have books like an atlas. should I bring that to class? I have two atlas books.

    Sara,

We learned a lot about New York in the beginning of the year. But if you want to know even more…here are some great links to learn more about New York. These are some “kid-friendly” sites that you can check out.
