Monday is our New York State Elementary Science Test.

Be sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast to fuel your body!

Also bring a few sharpened pencils with you.

(If you are “refusing the test” or “opting out”, please send your child to school with a few things to read silently. If you are keeping your child home, the test should be over by 10:45 AM so we will still be going to library normal time in the morning.)

It is so hard for me to believe that our year together is coming quickly to an end! We have several special events over the final few weeks and I wanted to share them with you so that you can mark your calendars.

I have promised my students that if they work hard we will play hard too! 🙂

We will continue to work hard and learn in all subject areas. However, there will be a lot of fun in the next few weeks too!

Tuesday, May 19th: Mrs. Spata’s Annual Tax Day!!

Thursday, May 21st: New York State Elementary Science Performance Assessment (If you are having your child “refuse this test” or opt-out, a signed note must be sent into school.  Anyone refusing this test should come to school with a few books to read quietly.)

Monday, May 25th: Memorial Day (no school)

Friday, May 29th: Road to the Revolution Social Studies test

Monday, June 1st: New York State Elementary Science Written Assessment (See note for May 21st)

Thursday, June 4th: Tackan Field Day! Fourth Graders wear the color yellow. 🙂

Wednesday, June 10th: Fourth Grade Field Trip- A Walk Through History with Abraham Woodhull! (Please see flyer sent home with regards to how to prepare for this trip.)

Our newest On-Target award has been earned by one of our boys this month.

I am proud to announce that Ryan is our On-Target winner!!!

Ryan is a hard working, caring, helpful, and friendly fourth grader who has joined the Tackan family this year! Congratulations Ryan!!!!

The Leadership class from HSE and the Tackan PTA are putting together a special week for us in conjunction with the ReeSpecht Life foundation. Friday night come participate in our “Kindness Games” on the front field of the school!!

Motivational Monday: Receive a positive pencil and a ReesSpecht Life card. Promise to pay it forward to become one of Rees’ pieces.

Teamwork Tuesday: Wear your favorite sports jersey to show that you are a TEAM player.

Wonderful Wednesday: Draw a picture or write a bout an act of kindness you completed today.

Thoughtful Thursday: Write a friendly note to a family member, teacher, coach, or classmate to tell them why you think they are special.

Friendly Friday: Give someone a compliment! Come celebrate with us at our Kindness Games!
