Extra Credit Activity

We are offering a wonderful opportunity for your children to earn an extra 10 points on the upcoming science test!!!

Please see the flyer sent home for all of the specific details. This is not a mandatory project, however it is a great way to study and earn points all at once!! Would be a shame to pass up the opportunity for 110% on the first science test of the year!!

Pumpkin Biographies

The October research project, Pumpkin Biographies, are due next Friday. Your children have been talking about their “people” a lot in class. I can tell that you are all working very hard on this fun and educational project.

I am sending home the scoring rubric today with your children.  I spoke with the class in great detail about how the reports will be scored. Please take a moment to look over it. Please send the rubric back to school with the completed Pumpkin Biography. I will use it to record your child’s grade on it and send it back home for you to see and sign. I will display their projects in the classroom to show off their hard work.

Literature on Parade

Our annual Tackan Literature on Parade event will take place on Monday, October 31st. A letter from Dr. Leeds is in your child’s backpack today. Please take a moment to read it over.

The parade will begin promptly at 10:15AM in the front loop of the school. You are invited to come and watch the parade, however you may need to park on Midwood or walk if possible.

For saftey concerns, parents are not permitted to come into the classroom either before or after the parade. We ask for your full cooperation in this matter.

Students are invited to come to school dressed in their “school appropriate” costume…with their regular clothing underneath. This will help reduce the use of the bathrooms after the parade for changing. Costumes must be changed out of after our classroom party.
