Field Trip Announcement

We will have our fourth grade field trip to the

Epenetus Smith Tavern

on Wednesday, March 23rd.

The students will enjoy a trip back in time to Colonial America in a historic building while they participate in several time period activities. We will be gone most of the day and eat a picnic (bag lunch) on the grounds.

If you are available and interested in coming as a class chapperone please contact me either through the blog or through my email (sspata@smithtown.k12.ny.us). I need 4 parent volunteers and I will fill the slots on a first come first serve basis.

Hero Day!!

Hero Day was a huge success!!!

Congratulations to all of my students who worked so very hard to prepare the best narrative essays ever!!! You stood up at the podium so proud of yourselves, and read very powerful essays to the crowd of heroes and your fellow fourth graders!

You should be very proud of yourselves! You have proven yet again, that you are capable of exceptional work and behavior when you make good choices!!

:O)

PS A huge thank you to all the families that donated all the delicious snacks that we had to celebrate our special day with our heroes! You generosity is very much appreciated!

Hero Day

Our class Hero Day will take place on Wednesday, February 16th and is by invitation only!!

This event is specifically for my students and their individual heroes. Only those who have recieved an invitation are invited to attend. It was very difficult for my students to choose only one hero out of all the important people in their lives. Please take care not to make them feel badly if they did not select you. It was a very hard decision.

In order to help this event feel as special as it can be, we are asking for donation of drinks, snacks, and paper products for 24 students and 25 adults. If you are interested and available to help supply some of the goodies, please contact either myself or one of the class mothers using the phone chain. All donations are greatly appreciated and will help add to this special fourth grade memory for your children.

Thank you so much for your support!
