Week in Review

 

September 21st, 2009

   We had a morning meeting we learned about Connecticut. Then we had P.E. We had a fire drill before lunch. We made postcards in social studies. We learned about rounding in the thousands and millions place in math.Then we read Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing.  

                                                             

September 22st

 We had our moring  meeting. Our state was Deleware. Then we had readers workshop. We played high or low. Then we had lunch or recess. We got our seats on the risiors in music. We learned about new york in socail studies. Then we had a read aloud. We read another chapter of tales of the fourth grade nothing.                    

  

September 23rd 2009

 We had the morning meeting. Our state was Florida. Sam did the booktalk. We  wrote our first story in writers workshop. We had our read aloud. Then next period we had lunch and recess.We went to library. We learned about desimals in math we played math games.We learned about the regions of New York.

 

September 24 ,2009

We had our  morning meeting. Our state was Georgia. The book talk person was Nick. Then we went to art. We did the Spata Bank of Tackan during snack. Next we did readers workshop. Then we went to lunch and recess. Then we did socail studies after. We played math game.  Lastly we did writers workshop.

 September 25th

We had our morning meeting. Our state was Hawiia. Our book talk was Alex. We did math pakets and groups.Later at the computer lab we had a math practice test for the test on wednsday. Then we had lunch and recess. After we had writers workshop. Next period was gym. Some kids left because of the summer reading program ice cream party. We learned a new game called Give and Take. Then we did Multiplication Marathon. After we went home.

Mrs. Spata’s Melting Pot

We have begun our year-long “American Melting Pot” project. Please be sure to read the notice that was sent home today. Each students will have the opportunity to share their family history and cultural background with the class.

Meet the Teacher Night

I really enjoyed meeting all of you at our Meet the Teacher night last night.

I am very excited about this year, it is going to be a great one!!!

Monday September 14, 2009

Today we did our 1st problem of the day.   We also learned about Alaska at our morning meeting.   We did our first grammar lesson too.    In grammar we did capitalisation.   Mrs. Spata did the first  book talk.  We wrote acrostic poems about ourselves.  We also did our first math game.  

                                                Tuesday September 15, 2009

Today we did our morning work and a book talk.   We did dry erase boards for math.  We went to the computer lab and did social studies on them.  We went to music for the first time.  We put ideas in the back of our writer’s notebook also.  Then we had reader’s workshop and Table 4 got the pillows.

 Wednesday September 16, 2009

Today we did our 2nd Book Talk.   Also we had Reader’s Workshop and ELA.   Then we had Library.  Then we decorated our writer’s notebooks.  Then we had our read aloud and left.

 Thursday  17, 2009

Today we had our Constitution Assembly.  After the Morning meeting, I Sydney, did my book talk.   We also did the state  of California in the meeting.   Also we opened the Spata Bank Of  Tackan .  That’s where we deposit all the tickets we earn.   After Lunch we made posters for the Preamble of the Constitution.  At the end of the day we watch the movie version of  Shh We’re Writing the Constitution.

    

Friday September 18, 2009

Today we had another Multiplication Marathon.  We also did the Spata Store.  Also  Lexi did her  book talk.  We also had Computer Lab and Gym.  Also all of us picked new jobs.  The new News Anchors are Sam and Brian so you will be hearing from them next week.

  Today was our 1st day of school.  We meet our class and teacher Mrs.Spata.  We went to library and met our new library teacher Mrs. Denby.  Also we had our 1st Multiplication Marathon!  Mrs. Spata also introduced us to   THE SPATA  BANK OF TACKAN.  She also introduced us to THE SPATA STORE.  We had a GREAT first  day!

 

Thursday  September 10, 2009

 Today we had our first fire drill, art class, and we learned our first  Idiom. Find out what it is at the top.  We also learned our responsibilities and our new jobs.  Some things we also did were write poems, play Jeopardy and make self esteem stars

    

                                             Friday September 11, 2009

 

Today we did our first math lesson.  The math lesson was on place value.  Also we went to the computer lab for the first time. We typed our cinquain poems.   Also we did social studies. We had our first P.E. class too. We played Prison Ball.  

 

That Was Our First, Fabulous, Week!!!

First day of school

Wow! What an exciting day!

 

I was so happy to see all of your smiling faces yesterday. We have a super class and I am really looking forward to all that we will be doing together this year!
